Classroom Volunteers

Van R Butler Elementary appreciates the support of the community as volunteers.  Volunteers are required to renew their online application and affidavit annually. If you are interested in being a chaperone, please see below. You are not required to have fingerprints to help in the classroom.

Chaperones/Field Trip Assistants

To be an additional monitor (chaperone) for teachers on a class field trip, a volunteer application needs to be completed with a notarized affidavit. Once these are completed, you will need to make an appointment at the district office for fingerprinting (850)982-1100 x1354. Please allow 2 weeks for processing. The fee for the background and fingerprints is $75.00. Fingerprints are good for 5 years and the district does not accept fingerprints/background checks from outside agencies.

All chaperones must renew their online application and affidavit annually. If you request to be a chaperone, please contact your child's teacher. Final approval for field trip chaperones is made by administration.
