R.E.A.D. Celebration

May 17, 2017

Van R. Butler students celebrated their year of reading with their pal Boodah at an end of year celebration.  The students that participated in the R.E.A.D. program received a personalized book, certificate, and a special “book worm” from the program coordinators.

Student Council had a wonderful year end celebration for all of their hard work this year. They worked so hard at every night event that we had at VRB this year. What a great group of leaders!
Mrs. Shubert's class enjoyed a Fancy Nancy celebration. All students came up with a vocabulary word to describe themselves. They also created a book using their wonderful vocabulary word. Parents were invited to the reading of the books and to share in the Fancy Nancy celebration.
Aaargggg! That's what our Pre-K students were saying when they went on their fun-filled field trip. They enjoyed a day on a pirate ship learning all about the fun things they do at sea. What a fun day!

Third grade enjoyed a day planting their grasses by the bay. As a culminating activity for a yea-long partnership with Grasses in Classes, all third grade students went to Cessna Landing to plant grass to protect the ground from erosion. It was a great experience! Thank you for this wonderful program!

Teacher and Staff Appreciation week is May 1-5, 2017.   Kindergartners in Mrs. Varner's class at Butler Elementary School recognized the school's front office staff  with a huge banner they created for Office Staff Appreciation Day. "Without You This Place Would be A Zoo!"

Attention Mrs. Barnhill, Mrs. Branson, Ms. Keenan, and Ms. Lindaas's classes! The field trip to Rocking B-A-B Ranch has been postponed to Friday. We felt that was in the best interest of the children's safety since there is a high chance of rain all morning, as well as a chance of storms. If you are unable to attend this Friday and have already paid, please let your teacher know. Refunds will be given to those parents.
