Emerald Coast Technical College (ECTC) offers a variety of financial aid programs to help students achieve their career goals. Below are the main types of aid available:
Federal Financial Aid
Pell Grant
Available to students who demonstrate financial need
FAFSA is required to apply
State of Florida Programs & Scholarships
Florida Student Assistance Grant – Career Education (FSAG-CE)
Need-based grant for degree-seeking Florida residents enrolled in eligible institutions
Florida Work Experience Program (FWEP)
Provides need-based, career-related work experiences for eligible Florida students
Each institution determines deadlines, procedures, and award amounts
Florida Bright Futures Scholarships
Includes Florida Academic Scholars, Florida Medallion Scholars, and Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Awards
Based on high school academic achievement
Awarded to Florida resident high school seniors
Florida Prepaid College Fund
Allows families to prepay for college expenses
Documentation must be provided to the Financial Aid Office
Local & Institutional Aid
Emerald Coast Technical College Opportunity Scholarship
Award amounts vary based on merit, financial need, program of study, and other factors
Students must meet all eligibility requirements, including Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and Good Academic Standing
Tri-County Community Council Programs
Provides transportation, education, youth development, supportive services, food pantry, emergency assistance, and more
Business Sponsors & Community Scholarships
Local businesses and organizations may sponsor scholarships for students enrolled in CTE programs
Workforce & Employment Programs
Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA)
Provides education and training for high-demand careers
May cover tuition, books (up to $6,000), uniforms, supplies, and vocational guidance
Focused on building a skilled workforce and improving job retention
Specialized Support Programs
Vocational Rehabilitation
Assists students with disabilities by covering tuition, fees, books, and supplies
Veterans Affairs (VA) Education Benefits
Available for eligible Servicemembers, Veterans, and dependents
May cover tuition, certifications, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training
