When a READing Paws dog is listening, children love to read.  The READing Paws program utilizes Intermountain therapy animals, who are ideal reading companions, to listen to children practice their reading.  This third grader, William, loves reading to the dog and it looks like the feeling is mutual!

WMS Celebrates Literacy Week
By Cathy Mosley

Walton Middle School celebrated Literacy Week January 25-29.  Each day had a different dress-up theme.  Students participating received a prize in their Language Arts class each day.  This year there was an AR test challenge.  During this week, students could put their name in a drawing for a $25 gift card if they took an Accelerated Reader (AR) test on their level and made a passing grade of 80 percent or better.  The more books they read and tested on, the more chances they had to enter the drawing.  Congratulations to the winners in each grade level.
