February is Dental Health month! PreK and kindergarten students attended a presentation from Marcantonio Dentistry about proper dental care.
Butler Elementary first graders in Mrs. Page, Ms. Clark, and Ms. Schmidt's classes researched Presidents in partner groups and created these collages inspired by the book 'What Presidents are Made Of' by Hanoch Piven. Students then presented their collages and research through multiple methods of presentation.

The WHS academic team finished their season Monday night (Feb. 22), and we would like to recognize them for their accomplishment. This marks the third consecutive year the team has gone undefeated. Evan Cowie & Kier Teves will be members of the six-person county team that will compete at the state tournament at Disney in April.

Walton High's Mock Trial students performed well once again! We were given the unofficial MOST IMPROVED TEAM award this week. This will become an official award next year - but we were told that HANDS DOWN it goes to Walton High this year. The judge and jury today were floored at the growth they had as a team from Monday to Thursday. Finally, Sophomore Ellie Johnson was selected as one of the MOST EFFECTIVE WITNESSES of the days of trial.

On February 20th, the Freeport Middle School National Junior Honor Society helped move approximately 500 bags of oyster shells to spread across over 20 feet of shoreline. Their efforts helped to create a natural reef for our bay, and assists in protecting and preserving the shoreline. Along with using recycled oyster shells, it helps filter the water in the most natural way.
