Congratulations to Aidan Burnham, a seventh grader enrolled at Freeport Middle School, for his outstanding performance in the Duke Talent Identification Program. As part of Duke TIP, Aidan took the ACT, scoring in one section, at or above 90% of high school juniors and seniors. Aidan’s scores have qualified him for the Grand Recognition Ceremony held at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

This was an incredible weekend for the Walton High Jazz Band and Winter Guard!
On Saturday, our Winter Guard finished up their season at Circuit Championships at Tate High School in Pensacola. The Guard bounced around in placement from 2nd to 3rd and even 1st at some point throughout the season, but on Saturday they gave their BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR! Their efforts did not go unnoticed as they placed FIRST IN THEIR CLASS! This will serve us well as we are having open auditions for next year's Guard during the last week of April.
On Sunday, our Jazz Band performed at Pensacola Jazzfest and did GREAT! They received compliments from many other jazz directors, audience members, and event coordinators.
You may view a 4-minute video from the Winter Guard Championships at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eX_0VTxNbBE.
