Barbara Bush Foundation

September 14, 2016

Many of our third-graders were TV stars last week during the “Reading Rally & Book Giveaway” to celebrate the importance of “reading on grade level.” The District has partnered with the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy and St. Joe Community Foundation – and Butler is the pilot launch school. A subset of third-graders will receive intensive special reading assistance this year in what is a nationally acclaimed, STEM-focused program. Check out the video about why reading is so important in third grade, and years prior. We were honored to have Superintendent Anderson come join the fun --- and Thank You to @ChoctawhatcheeElectricCooperative,Inc. and @KellyAnne and so many local businesses involved in having ALL of our 210 third-graders excited about reading this year!
