The WHS TV production classes toured the WJHG studio in Panama City Beach today. We learned a lot about what goes on behind the scenes and met many experienced staff members that detailed what goes into a professional news broadcast. We even got a chance to view and be a part of their live 11:00 show (see link below). Thank you to everyone at WJHG for making this an unforgettable experience for our students.

Congratulations to the WHS Academic Team who recently completed an unprecedented 4th consecutive year of undefeated competition!  2016-2017 team members include Hayden Clemmons; Seth Mosley; Evan Cowie; Kier Teves; Jimmy Franklin; Logan Green; Brie Anna Arke; Anthony Elio; Tanner Grey; Brandi Spicer; Billy Hubbard; Griffon Murphy; Katelyn Lloyd; and Belle Lloyd.  

Three Walton High team members qualified this year for the six-person Walton County School District state academic team that will compete in the state tournament held in April at Disney World.  Those three students are Evan Cowie, Kier Teves, and Griffon Murphy.

Congratulations again to these students and their advisor, Mr. Glen Harrison!

WCSD Observes President's Day

February 14, 2017

Just a reminder - All Walton County School District Schools and Offices will be closed on Monday, February 20, 2017, in observance of President's Day. Students and Staff will return on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Submitted by Donna Honish.
Congratulations to South Walton High School students Isabella Carvalho and Ansley Daniels. Both ladies won second place in the Earth and Environmental category of the Regional Science Fair. Ansley was chosen as an alternate to the state competition. Submitted by Barbara Stratton.
Congratulations to all of our Okaloosa-Walton Regional Science Fair winners! Jared Heady (pictured) from Walton Middle School is going to participate in this year's State Science Fair in Lakeland, Fl. His project title is "Invasive Plants vs. Oil Spills," category: Junior Earth and Environmental Sciences.
