Family Pumpkin Patch at MSE!
October 17, 2018
MSE families have been busy decorating pumpkins for the annual pumpkin patch at Maude Saunders. It’s always fun to see the creative ideas our students and families come up with! Family engagement is an important goal at Maude Saunders, and we love to see our families get involved in school activities. Submitted by Krisy Spence
WCSD "Stuff the Bus" Relief Effort
October 16, 2018
All across our county, our students, administrators, faculty, and families are doing what we can to help our neighboring counties as they struggle to recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Michael. One of those efforts is our "Stuff the Van" campaign at all WCSD High Schools. School Buses are stationed outside each of our 4 high schools ready to accept donations during regular school hours, or approximately 7:00 am until 3:30 pm each school day, for as long as there is a need. Buses will transport relief supplies to affected areas as they fill up, and will come back to reload! Please help us fill the buses to the ceiling to show our caring and concern for our neighbors to the east!!!
Batteries and Flashlights are in great need, in addition to the items listed in the pictures below!

Math Differentiation Strategies at Walton Middle School
October 11, 2018
In seventh grade math at WMS, Mrs. Kari Ann Kinkey employs a variety of differentiation strategies to ensure ALL students learn. In a recent lesson, student Nayeli Salgado explained how she solved a problem in both Spanish and English for the benefit of the English language learners in the class. Students also worked collaboratively, using algebra tile manipulatives, to solve algebraic expressions. Mrs. Kinkey continually seeks out new methods to ensure math makes sense for her students.
