Awesome Attendance Celebration

September 25, 2017

Students had a great time celebrating awesome attendance for August. We look forward to our celebration for September coming soon.
These are a few pictures of one of our Science experiments. We made SLIME! We used Elmer's glue, foam shaving cream, saline solution and glitter. It was quite messy but they had so much fun! Look at the smile on their faces!

STEM Club

September 18, 2017

Butler Elementary is excited to host an afterschool STEM Club this year!  For their first activity, participants were involved in a cup stacking challenge.  The club meets once a week and is a school improvement initiative being to supplement the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics opportunities provided for our children.  There will be two sessions, one for the first semester, and another for the second semester, for students in grades 2-4 who completed a signed interest application.  We are excited about this awesome opportunity for our children!

Coastal Cleanup

September 18, 2017

Butler bears spent time Friday, September 15th cleaning campus in observance of International Coastal Cleanup Day (September 16th).  Students collected, logged, and disposed of trash in an attempt to preserve their environment.  They used data logged to discuss ways to prevent further pollution.

Mrs. Rieger's class is having fun "Thinking Like a Scientist". They have been tracking the growth of sunflowers based on variable like, plant food, water, and direct vs indirect light. They have also been charting the growth and variables. They love their plants.
