2018-2019 School Year Controlled Open Enrollment

Applications are now available for parents who are considering enrolling their
children in a school other than their zoned school. Florida Statute 1002.31 requires
district school boards to adopt and implement a plan to allow a parent from any school in
the state to enroll a child in a school of choice.

The Controlled Open Enrollment (COE) application window for the Walton
County School District will be from January 3 – March 16. Parents/Guardians must
provide transportation to the COE school with available capacity.
Parents/Guardians may obtain an application at any school, on the district’s website, or
through the district office. To view Walton County School District’s Controlled Open
Enrollment Plan and Application for Attendance or to see a complete list of schools and
the capacity of each, please visit www.walton.k12.fl.us and click on the Controlled Open
Enrollment link.

From Mrs. Rieger's Class

December 8, 2017

From Mrs. Rieger's Class: We are currently studying rocks and minerals. For the students to get interested in the topic, we did an experiment with glaciers. The students had aluminum foil, which represented the land. They also had a glacier made of ice with various items embedded into it. As the ice melted they observed the "glacier" tearing the "land" and depositing the items that were embedded into it.
